Seeing and experiencing the unknown and thereby sharpening one's own reflexes. Fear, uncertainty or curiosity is triggered in the viewer.

The lady or also called the ghost or the unknown was covered with a lacquer and evokes associations that people pull from their everyday life. Some see in her veiling and religious symbolism, others do not know whether she has a being of its own, whether someone is under it.

The forever unknown stands for itself, in a context that has no apparent relation to it. The result is an object that seems both misplaced and unreal, since it has no apparent purpose or use. Why is it there? What is the context?

The viewer then tries to find his own role in relation to the artwork, to understand how to behave, and projects his own assumptions onto the artwork.
